Randalls Names Pope VP, Meat Operations

re has tapped Paul Pope to become vice president of meat operations for Randalls, Tom Thumb and Simon David stores in Texas.

Pope was most recently a senior buyer for meat, deli and seafood for Wal-Mart's Super Center operation, based in Bentonville, Ark. He began his career with H. E. Butt Grocery Co., San Antonio, in 1976.

Pope replaces Craig McKnight, who left the company. He will report to Tom Arledge, senior vice president of retailing.

Hudson Division Names President

ROGERS, Ark. -- Norbert E. Woodhams has been appointed president of a newly created division of Hudson Foods, the poultry producer and food processor based here.

Hudson has established the Specialty Foods Division exclusively for its beef, turkey, portioned entrees and luncheon meat products.

The new division will handle products under the Hudson, Pierre, Ohse, Schwiegert and Roegelein brand names. It will be divided into foodservice, retail, and supermarket deli business units.

Woodhams was most recently president of Hudson Foods' Pierre frozen foods division. He also has previously held positions with Tyson Foods, ConAgra, Holly Farms, and Eckrich.
