BELLINGHAM, Wash. (FNS) -- Haggen's Top Food & Drug formatted units here spurred end-of-summer produce sales recently with a specially advertised sale. The limited-time event was promoted through in-store signs and banners. Additionally the operator used a band around its weekly circular to draw attention to the sale, which was held over three days -- Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
mple, seven varieties of plums were featured at 79 cents per pound. Cucumbers and green peppers were also offered as a combination and priced at five for $1. Radishes and green onion bunches were featured at four for $1.
Nuts were included in the three-day produce event. Pistachio nuts, from the bulk-food department, were featured at $2.99 per pound and 24-ounce bags of peanuts were merchandised at two for $4.
