CHICAGO - Supermarkets were out in force for the International Home & Housewares Show put on last week by the International Housewares Association, Rosemont, Ill. Many supermarket executives spent time at the co-located Retail Promotion Show of the Association of Retail Marketing Services, Red Bank, N.J., and attended a reception held by GMDC, Colorado Springs. ARMS featured the latest in supermarket promotions, including continuities and much more, while GMDC's top executives were on hand to discuss the organization's progress with attendees. Meanwhile, the Housewares Show filled several large halls of McCormick Place with the newest innovations in home products, as well as educational seminars on international trends, color and design. Big-name speakers included former vice presidential candidate John Edwards and publisher Steve Forbes.
