Dorothy Lane Supports Local Produce

DAYTON, Ohio — Dorothy Lane Market is participating in “Farm 2 Fork Fresh,” a community supported agriculture initiative.

The CSA consists of a community of individuals who pledge support to a farm or group of farms. The Farm 2 Fork Fresh CSA will provide “shareholders” with weekly boxes of fresh produce for 6, 12, or 18 weeks for $25 per week plus an annual membership fee of $35.

The items are all locally grown in the Miami Valley, featuring produce from Mulberry Creek Farm and other small local producers. By selling to community members, growers receive better prices for their crops, gain some financial security, and are relieved of much of the burden of marketing, according to Dorothy Lane.

Shipments can be picked up every week throughout the summer at all three Dorothy Lane locations. “Pickup at DLM allows for convenient and proper handling, which gets the local, healthy, safe, affordable produce into the hands of Miami Valley residents,” Dorothy Lane states in promotional materials. Dorothy Lane has signup forms both in-store and online.
