NEW YORK — Gotham West Market, a retailer housing artisan food vendors, opened here last week in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood.
The city-block-long location includes restaurants such as the Ivan Ramen Slurp Shop; The Cannibal, serving small plates; the farm-to-table focused Little Chef; El Colmado tapas bar; Court Street Grocers sandwich shop; and General Roadside diner.
Brooklyn Kitchen offers kitchen equipment and fresh produce at Gotham Market West. In addition, the market includes a Blue Bottle Coffee store and a showroom for NYC Velo’s bicycling merchandise. The market is located in the new residential building Gotham West.
“The market offers a well-curated list of artisan vendors and restaurants who are open early and stay open late to appease discerning palates and satisfy vivacious appetites,” said the retailer’s press release announcing the grand opening.
Similarly, events with food popups have been growing in popularity in New York City. Smorgasburg, a weekly event hosting artisan vendors in Brooklyn, has expanded locations, and also partnered with Whole Foods Market. A Manhattan Whole Foods store offers an ongoing Smorgasburg vendor selection with items like premium ramen and butter and scotch cupcakes.
