FMI Awards Go to Lafley, Minyard, Infusino and Scher

Food Marketing Institute yesterday presented its William H. Albers Industry Relations Award to A.G. Lafley of Procter & Gamble Co.; its Herbert Hoover Award for community service to Tom Infusino of Wakefern Food Corp.; its Sidney R. Rabb Award for service to the community, consumers and the industry to Liz Minyard, formerly of Minyard Food Stores; and its Glenn P. Woodard Jr. Public Affairs Award to Barry Scher of Ahold USA.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Food Marketing Institute yesterday presented its William H. Albers Industry Relations Award to A.G. Lafley of Procter & Gamble Co.; its Herbert Hoover Award for community service to Tom Infusino of Wakefern Food Corp.; its Sidney R. Rabb Award for service to the community, consumers and the industry to Liz Minyard, formerly of Minyard Food Stores; and its Glenn P. Woodard Jr. Public Affairs Award to Barry Scher of Ahold USA. Lafley, chairman and chief executive officer of P&G, was cited for his work in cost-cutting and data synchronization, among other areas. Infusino, chairman emeritus of Wakefern, was credited with strengthening the Wakefern cooperative and recognized for his ShopRite Partners in Caring charitable program. Minyard, former co-chair and co-CEO of Minyard Food Stores, was the first woman to chair FMI and also was recognized for her efforts with local charitable causes. Scher, the former vice president of public affairs at Ahold’s Giant Food-Landover chain, was lauded for his work on various legislative and community-service activities.
