WESTBURY, N.Y. — Union workers at King Kullen and Stop & Shop stores in New York have agreed to a two-week contract extension while they negotiate with retailers on a new deal.
The contract, which was to expire Sept. 28, now has an Oct. 12 deadline, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1500 here said Tuesday.
The union said negotiations have been complicated by changes to federal health care law.
