A Food City store that caters to the needs of Hispanics by blending an authentic Mexican food offering with items that are found in a traditional grocery store will debut new, fresh-focused services and amenities in a remodeled location in Tempe, Ariz., Wednesday.
The store features an expanded restaurant deli that offers grab-and-go meals, an Aguas Frescas station featuring drinks flavored with fruit and an improved Carnaval de Frescura section showcasing a new produce area stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables.
The first 300 shoppers who purchase groceries at the store’s grand opening Wednesday will receive a free reusable Food City-branded bag loaded with groceries.
The Mexican bakery creates pan dulce and specialty cake flavors from scratch.
Other dessert offerings come in piña colada, cappuccino, dulce de leche, cookies and cream, chocolate delight, strawberry cream, and fresh fruit flavors.
Meat and seafood
The store’s updated carnicería offers a wide range of meat cuts, free marinades and an expanded seafood selection.
The store’s dairy offering includes queso fresco that according to Food City provides a refreshing and creamy flavor to salads, grilled vegetables, enchiladas and huevos rancheros.
Fresh salsa and guacamole are among the stores offerings.
