ARLINGTON, Va. — Peter Larkin, president and chief executive officer of the National Grocers Association here, said he has been appointed to serve on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Association Committee of 100.

The committee includes CEOs from trade associations who represent their members before the Chamber's board of directors to enhance advocacy efforts and strengthen outreach to the business and trade association community.
"I'm pleased to accept this appointment and look forward to continuing NGA's important work to increase the presence of the independent supermarket industry in Washington D.C. and beyond," Larkin said. "NGA and the U.S. Chamber have a strong working relationship, and I look forward to continuing our partnership, particularly on public policy issues such as labor, tax, health care and immigration that are so important to the business community."
