Fresh & Easy Continues Shop for Schools Program

Positive feedback from customers and local schools encouraged Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market here to bring back its Shop for Schools program.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Positive feedback from customers and local schools encouraged Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market here to bring back its Shop for Schools program.

Nearly 500 schools from the three states participated in the Shop for Schools pilot program held during the last school year.

Schools for students in kindergarten through 8th grade, that are located within three miles of a Fresh & Easy store can register for the program. They’ll receive a $1 cash donation for every $20 spent at the store.

New program enhancements include a shopping night where schools will receive 5% of the store’s sales from 4p.m.-8p.m. This year’s Shop for Schools program will also run for a longer period of time —Sept. 15 through Dec. 31.

“The money raised can be used on whatever each school needs most,” said Roberto Munoz, affairs director for Fresh & Easy, in a statement. “The more customers shop at Fresh & Easy, the more money they can raise for their neighborhood school.”
