Lund Deploys Two-Sided Receipt Printer at Two Stores

Lund Food Holdings, parent company of Lunds and Byerly’s supermarkets, is deploying a two-sided thermal receipt printer at the POS in two stores to support its sustainability efforts and improve operational efficiencies.

MINNEAPOLIS — Lund Food Holdings here, parent company of Lunds and Byerly’s supermarkets, is deploying a two-sided thermal receipt printer at the POS in two stores to support its sustainability efforts and improve operational efficiencies.

The printer, from NCR, Dayton, Ohio, simultaneously prints on both sides of a thermal paper receipt, reducing paper consumption by up to 40%, said NCR.

“We are always exploring ways in which we can reduce our waste and energy consumption,” said Aaron Sorenson, spokesperson for Lund Food Holdings, in a statement. “Through the implementation of NCR’s two-sided thermal receipt printing at our Lunds Plymouth and Byerly’s Maple Grove stores we will continue to further reduce our environmental impact.”

Lund operates 21 Lunds and Byerly’s supermarkets in and around the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.
