GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Meijer is encouraging sports fans to put pen to paper for its football-themed poetry contest.
Contestants are asked to create a fun, football themed poem in 30 words or less for a chance to win a portable grill, gourmet grilling kit, a variety of Johnsonville bratwurst and a flat screen TV. Entries can be submitted to the Meijer Facebook page through Feb. 4.
Meijer’s Facebook community will vote for their favorite poems. The top 10 vote-getters will each receive the tailgate prize package.
“As Meijer approaches one-half million Facebook ‘likes,’ this provides a fun and unique way for our customers to showcase their creative prose through digital and social channels. Plus, we know this is right up their alley with things they love: Facebook, football and grilling,” said Kevin Brown, chief marketing officer for Meijer, in a press release.
