ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores said last week it would be one of the co-sponsors of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ National E-prescribing Conference. The event will take place Oct. 6-7 at the Sheraton Boston Hotel in Boston. Conference topics include: how e-prescribing and other e-health initiatives can be utilized to increase patient compliance and overall improved health outcomes, educating healthcare professionals on how to integrate e-prescribing into their business model, and distributing information about the system’s structure for implementation. “During a period when the nation’s political landscape is changing and healthcare is at the top of the political debate, it is important that we advocate for positive healthcare reform. E-prescribing is an important part of the improvements needed within the current system,” said Steven Anderson, president and chief executive officer of NACDS.
