SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper Supermarkets is asking website visitors to view "House of BBQ" singing contest entries and vote for their favorite online.
Voters will be entered in a drawing to win a backyard BBQ for 20 people.
The chain began accepting video entries of people singing Price Chopper’s “House of BBQ” theme song in May. Price Chopper visited select stores last month to film performances.
The retailer narrowed the field to 12 finalists, five of which will be selected by Price Chopper to star in its upcoming commercial. Winners will also get a chance to win a gas grill, grilling tools and $500 in Price Chopper gift cards to host their own backyard party.
One winner will also get a “Chopper” attendant to assist with their party, and a live performance by House of BBQ musician Melvin Sparks. The five entrants who receive the most consumer votes will win a $250 Price Chopper Gift Certificate to be used to host a backyard BBQ for 20 people. Online voters will be entered to win the same prize.
Website visitors must log in before casting a vote. Limit one vote per email address.
