PLEASANTON, Calif. — Safeway here said Monday it has launched its 10th annual companywide campaign in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association's efforts to develop treatments and assist people coping with neuromuscular diseases.
Through Labor Day all of the company's stores will collect donations, which will be distributed to MDA and Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
The chain's U.S. stores will also participate in a program called, "Make a Muscle, Make a Difference," which provides MDA with a portion of proceeds from specially marked products.
