Wal-Mart, Zemco Recall Grab-and-Go Sandwiches

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Zemco Industries here has voluntarily recalled 380,000 pounds of deli meat due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, discovered in a retail sample collected by inspectors in Georgia.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Zemco Industries here has voluntarily recalled 380,000 pounds of deli meat due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, discovered in a retail sample collected by inspectors in Georgia.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture thus far has received no reports of illness associated with the meats.

The meats subject to recall were all incorporated into prepackaged Marketside Grab and Go Sandwiches distributed to Wal-Mart Stores, and have “use by” dates ranging from Aug. 20 to Sept. 10. Individual packages of deli meat sold at Wal-Mart were not affected.
