WinCo Consolidation Continues

BOISE, Idaho — WinCo Foods said Monday it will continue to consolidate jobs at its headquarters here over the next two years.

The next stage will involve moving all buying, pricing, marketing, advertising and printing functions from its Woodburn, Ore., distribution center, Mike Read, a company spokesman, told SN — a process that began approximately 18 months ago with the move of the schematic department, followed by the transportation department about a year ago.

The latest move will affect approximately 60 people. Read said the company plans to move the personnel over a two-year period "to allow for as much flexibility as possible for people who must decide if they want to make the move to Boise or not."

He said WinCo does not contemplate moving any additional functions from Woodburn to here. WinCo operates 78 stores in six states out of four distribution centers located here and in Woodburn and Myrtle Creek, Ore., and in Modesto, Calif.
